Tom VR’s signature sound has flourished and resulted in a string of records on the label he co-runs, Valby Rotary, Midland’s Intergraded as well as his recent album Please Keep Shimmering on Seb Wildblood’s, all my thoughts; an expertly crafted journey of textural patchwork electronica.
His 2021 album Please Keep Shimmering was inspired by the fight against burnout and keeping the flame of creativity alive, against the various odds. Tom painted warped self-portraits and manipulated them into visuals to run alongside the release. One of them was used for the cover itself. The remix EP featured Midland, Lone, Peach, and Kareem Ali.
In 2023, Tom VR released acclaimed edits of Babyxsosa, Men I Trust, and collaborative projects with Louf and Otik. In November, he will connect with Ghostly’s Spectral Sound imprint for Heart Can Still Somersault, a four-track EP that weaves through the worlds of club music and headphone listening.
