Shady Novelle

Raised in London by her Irish mother, Shady grew up surrounded by musically passionate elders - it was only natural for her to flow into the discovery of her own vocal abilities and musical talents from a young age, finding her voice singing at family get togethers and house parties back in Belfast - a place she identifies as home.

Her broken vocal textures and haunting tones emit an olden yet new age vibration. Having drawn a lot of early inspiration from watching old movies with her mum as a child, she resonated deeply with music from past era’s, such as the 50's and 60's, and felt a longing to replicate the feeling she received from music to provide the same for others. She began making her own beats and recording original vocals in her bedroom in her teens.

Shady carries a magical, intimate and evoking presence throughout her work. She continues to deliver distinctive, catchy melodies that are unique yet familiar in resonance. Her creative demeanour still remains undefinable.

Known to emerge on the Drum & Bass scene with releases on reknowned labels such as DJ Zinc's Bingo, Hospital Records, V Recordings, Spearhead, Overview and more. She has collaborated with some of the scenes finest such as Mozey, Sweetpea, L-Side, Dynamite MC, Benny L, Workforce, Klinical and Exile with lots more in the pipeline.
