Whether it be sharing the stage with Shy One at Glastonbury, supporting Craig David at Ibiza Rocks, warming up for Boiler Room’s ELAM training or debuting at Field Day festival, thriving UK-talent Noudle is taking the current club scene by storm.
Such a feat should come as no surprise: Noudle was brought up on dance music after all. Leafing through her parents’ vinyl collection was standard procedure in her toddler years. From Sade to EZ, DJ Spoony to Bonobo, each of these styles have influenced Noudle’s sound today – whether that be rare groove spliced with breaks, funk and soul; or low-slung minimal blended into sweet-toned deep house. They surface in her selections and can be heard through the diverse nature of her mixes.
At the age of six, London born Noudle enrolled in Music and Sylvia Young Theatre school, where she trained for nine years in Classical Piano, Music Theory, Singing and Ballet. She would soon begin mixing at home, where she learned how to DJ professionally on her family’s Technics 1210s in 2015.
But DJing is just one of the many strings to Noudle’s bow. After graduating from SAE Institute in 2017 with a BA Honours in Audio Production & Engineering, it’s no surprise that she has gone on to work as a professional Sound Engineer for some of the most recognised companies in music and beyond. Boiler Room, Defected Records, PUMA, Red Bull… the list speaks for itself. It gives Noudle a unique insight into what makes the crowd tick: she’s able to adapt her skills to her DJing through understanding keys, rhythms and specific EQ frequencies, allowing her to curate moments in her sets that deeply resonate with those listening.
Hand-in-hand with Noudle’s club shows are her radio performances – they’ve helped mould the eclectic style with which she’s become best known. Cutting her teeth on Bristol’s DIY outfit Noods since 2018, 2021 marked a pivotal next step for the Londoner: it was the year she recorded a mix for COGO and began her monthly residency on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM. With such progressive platforms at her fingertips, Noudle is able to showcase the full breadth of her musical interests, traversing genres
from her youth alongside the sounds she knows and loves.
It’s here that Noudle has built such a significant following: fans actively tune in to her radio shows, which translates into greetings and hellos at gigs, club nights and beyond. A community ethos exists across Noudle’s performances, one that’s typified
through her own event series Lucidé. The party holds a residency at Café 1001, and hosted shows on Whynow Radio in 2021, but above all the mantra of the movement is simple: to give up-and-coming creatives a platform to build their confidence. She’s also a resident of Queen of Hoxton, Flat Iron Square and Paradise, a testament to her passion for the craft.
In 2022 Noudle debuted at Secret Garden Party, Lost Village Festival and E1 supporting John Digweed. The future certainly shines bright for Noudle, whilst January 2023 saw her support Cody Currie at Village Underground, Noudle has many exciting gigs lined up for the rest of the year. Add to that her development in music production and it’s safe to say Noudle will be a firm fixture in contemporary clubland, for many years to come.
