Mara

Born and raised in Geneva, DJ and Singer Mara grew up surrounded by dancehall, reggae, dub, dubstep and drum & bass sounds.

Starting out in 2018 as DJ in the French dancehall scene, Mara evolved to mix drum & bass, dubstep and jungle tracks inspired by artists like Shy FX, Chase and Status, Skrillex, and Rusko to name a few.

DJ, author, composer, and performer, Mara produces drum & bass and dubstep patterns with french west indies sounds, topped with bold lyrics. She built her reputation on stages from Geneva to Paris, as well as on MOUV’ (Radio France), where she hosted a weekly one-hour mix from 2018 to 2022.

Even though Mara has gained popularity with her shatta songs over the years, she is also a host on top of being a full time dj and producer.

She runs her own record label and curates her own party : the Foulamerde parties with a wicked selection of drum and bass, jungle, dancehall, and dubstep sounds. Her positive energy behind the decks is contagious and makes you to move your body, whether you want to or not !

Over the past year Mara has performed at some of France, Switzerland and Canada’s largest events and venues including Montreux Jazz, Paléo, Solidays, Frauenfeld, Marsatac, Ardentes, Francofolies de Montréal… and she is now ready to take over the world !

Mara has a few projects in line for 2024 so keep your ears open to one of the hottest swiss talents !
