Lili Chan

Lili Chan has always been comfortable not fitting in, doing her own thing. She makes music not caring for categorisation or expectation.

A singer-songwriter, infatuated by melody and lyrics and a pianist searching for chords that pluck at the heart, she marries these with her love of the dancefloor and the feeling of unity it brings.

Her hybrid DJ sets across decks, samplers and FX show what a pianist can do with some multicoloured pads, constantly layering grooves and melodies.

Born to British and Japanese parents she felt isolated growing up in Tokyo, fascinated by western music and culture. Now living in London, she proudly celebrates her Japanese heritage in every track, including traditional instruments and scales. Her music sounds otherworldly, familiar but ultimately completely personal and unique.
