Hard, sweet and shiny fusions of Afrobeats, UK drill, grime & bassline cooked up by London-based Fallow and Gloucester’s finest Griz-O for their monthly SWU show.
Fallow is perhaps best known as co-founder of Chow Down’s label, the grimy club incubator for the likes of Anz and Finn, and more recently founded of Skippin’ Rope Recordings. His productions and mixes draw on the boisterous sounds of 4x4 bassline, fused with colourful vocal and synth vamps for good measure.
Southwest sicko Griz-O’s vocal cuts are always stand-outs, from the brooding minor UK drill zoners through to the sion-dancehall sidewinders, Griz-O combines his hosting ability with a nastier, straight-up grime bullet side to maintain serious yet silly energy throughout.
