Oxford-born, British-Pakistani selector and broadcaster Esk has established himself as a passionate champion of new artists - presenting a blend of upfront rap, grime, soul, R&B and electronic sounds across the spectrum, spotlighting artists from the UK and beyond. Previously a resident on Worldwide FM, he kicks off a new residency on Rinse in 2023, Wednesdays 9-11am.
He found his voice interviewing the likes of IAMDDB, Knucks and Wesley Joseph at the early stages of their careers, alongside in depth conversations with Maverick Sabre, hip-hop royalty Talib Kweli, and one of the UK’s most respected DJs, Benji B.
His expansive taste and off the cuff style draws heavily on influences from house, soul and hip-hop, to an array of bass and club ready sounds. 2022 alone saw him at Glastonbury, We Out Here and Boomtown, and iconic venues such as KOKO, Printworks and Somerset House. Playing parties from London to New York and Hamburg, on line-ups alongside the likes of Bonobo, Snakehips, Kojey Radical, Ahadadream, Gina Jeanz, The Whooligan and many more.
