About
Watching Cassy eagerly dive into her record collection is a joy. Her vinyl-digging series Talking About My Records on Instagram, spurred by moving back to Austria and reconnecting with a stacked vinyl stash, reveals her endearing excitability. Rediscovering lost gems and rinsed B-sides has revived her enthusiasm and faithfulness to the music that fuels club culture—a new era for Cassy.
Her trailblazing career spans over two decades. She’s lived in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, London, New York and LA; worked at Hard Wax; held residencies at Panorama Bar, Trouw, Output, DC-10 for Circo Loco, Rex Club, Amnesia for Cocoon, and Pacha; played massive festivals and basements; contributed to the seminal mix series from Panorama Bar, fabric and Cocoon; released on Perlon, Aus, K7!, Ostgut Ton, Cocoon, Bass Culture; and launched Kwench Records, releasing music from Fred P, Demuir, Ian Pooley, Kristen Velvet, Chris Carrier, Art Alfie, Amir Alexander and Steve Bug.
In 2020, Cassy stepped back, moving to Austria with her mother and son. Distance from the scene was needed. A drum & bass set with Ray Keith via FOLD live stream lured her back. Record digging with tracks from Ron Hardy, Regis, Mike Dunn, Tin Man, Étienne de Crécy and Terrence Dixon reignited her spark.
Returning to Berlin’s bubble, playing Heideglühen, ELSE, Renate and Panorama Bar, she’s now future-focused: “There’s fresh audiences out there to connect with, and that excites me… Drop the ego. Let’s keep it real.”
Her 2023 EP E.T. Ascension honours her roots using Roland’s 808 and her computer, reconnecting with her Berlin past. “It was nice to revisit these feelings… lean into my weirdness… use my vocals.”
Cassy has freed herself from industry pressures, demanding only sincerity in her artistry.
