About

Since stepping on the scene, Isabel Munson, the Dallas-born artist working under the handle Bell Curve, has marked an expansive output as a producer, DJ, promoter, media artist, and label head at Worst Behavior Recs. Bell Curve released her debut LP on Worst Behavior in June 2021, to glowing reviews from DJ Mag, Resident Advisor, Groove Mag & more, and followed it up with a star-studded remix album in October 2021. She released a sci-fi and jungle inspired mixtape, Space Jungle Mixtape in April 2022, receiving coverage from DJ Mag and a Spotlight Artist feature on BBC Radio 6. Her latest EP, Obelisk, came out on Berlin label SSPB in July 2023. Bell Curve’s second album, Deep End, is set to be released this fall on LA-based label Dome of Doom.

With previous EPs on New York’s Sweat Equity and French label Ernest D Tapes, Bell Curve has long channeled her passion for the healing, communal power of dance into a string of uplifting parties, sets, and tracks, earning nods from BBC Radio 6, DJ Mag, Mixmag, Resident Advisor, Fact Mag, and more, while hitting the stage at a range of festivals and parties, from NYC clubs like Nowadays and Elsewhere to shows in Europe and festivals like Bass Coast, Dirty Bird Campout, and Future Forest. Bell Cuve’s label and event series with fellow New York mainstay Anna Morgan, Worst Behavior Recs, has received widespread praise for their curation and support of innovative and exciting producers of leftfield bass music by outlets including DJ Mag, Mixmag, Resident Advisor, Red Bull Radio, Inverted Audio, Footwork Jungle, and more.

Bell Curve’s music blends all manner of bass-centric production styles through a prismatic series of arrangements, creating colorful, textured interpolations that are uniquely her own. With inspirations ranging from soundsystem culture and the hardcore continuum to raving and sci-fi, her music is full of familiar sounds conceived in a new and uniquely personal way. As a DJ, Bell Curve similarly follows a genre-bending philosophy, pulling from a wide range of sounds and pushing boundaries, but focusing on bass-heavy tracks that make you want to move. With more new music on the way soon, Bell Curve is one to watch.
