About

The story of Anikonik is one of passion and perseverance within Scotland's thriving underground D&B scene. Starting out in Dundee, cutting her teeth as a resident DJ and promoter for Junglism Scotland, before long she knew her ambitions had outgrown the town. Moving to the capital, she quickly landed a spot as a resident DJ for the notorious Electrikal Sound System. With Edinburgh now firmly her home, she's often to be found headlining nights such as Midnight Bass, Sound System Legacies and the Electrikal club nights hosted in local institution The Bongo Club.

Not content with conquering Scotland, Anikonik is fast becoming a name within the wider UK Drum & Bass scene. Within the past year alone she has made appearances at Boomtown, Outlook UK, Fabric, Printworks and XOYO, had guest mixes on BBC Radio 1 and RAMlive Records, and finished a mentorship with RAM Records and EQ50.

The dance floor is a sacred space for Anikonik, and having the privilege of working with one of the UKs best sound systems has given her a killer instinct for controlling the energy when she's on the decks; from tearout heat to deeper cuts and beyond, crossing styles with ease and taking the ravers on a true journey. Expect dark vibes and a true appreciation for the many facets of 170BPM music from her selections.

This knowledge is currently being applied to her productions, in which she is in no rush to release – until the quality is high and the vibe is absolutely perfect. Watch out for debut releases in the not too distant future...and until then wrap your ears around the sounds of Anikonik in the mix.
