About
Some people may know her as an artist that has blown up over the past year, but really, Ama has been perfecting her craft as a D&B DJ for a solid eight years. Playing shows as far as North America and South Africa, and as big as the BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage at Reading & Leeds Festival and OVO Arena Wembley, Ama is without doubt a talent on many radars. Alongside being a wicked selector who draws for everything from soulful liquid to heavy rollers, what makes Ama so special is her positive energy behind the decks. As a raver, when you see a DJ smile and react as much as her, you can’t help but take some of that energy for yourself! It’s infectious.
Over the past year Ama has performed at some of UK's largest events and venues including Glastonbury on the Sonic stage Reading & Leeds Festival, Hospitality In the Woods, Hideout Festival, Glastonbury, Drumsheds, Warehouse Project, Fabric and Ministry of Sound and the Iconic Printworks supporting the likes of Chase and Status, Pendulum, DJ Fresh, Shy FX, Hybrid Minds and Sub Focus to name a few. 2021 also saw Ama record a series of guest mixes for Ram Records, Hospital Records, Shogun Audio, EQ50, SWU, Rinse FM & BBC Radio 1.
Ama began her musical journey in 2008 producing IDM and electronic / instrumental music, and after learning to mix with Hip-Hop instrumentals on vinyl she found her love for Drum & Bass and Jungle. After honing her craft as a DJ, Ama started to make a name for herself in the local Bournemouth scene, joining both House of Hifi & Enter Drumfunk as a resident. In 2017 she got her first international gig and festival booking at Outlook and has been back to play in Croatia every year since, most recently performing on the main stage. In the last few year's Ama’s also performed international shows in Pretoria South Africa, San Diego USA, Toronto Canada & Mallorca.
It doesn't look like there's any stopping Ama in 2023 with a number of high profile shows already confirmed including Motion Bristol, in february and a few more events yet to be announced. Ama is now heading into production for the next year and has a few projects in the pipeline in 2023 so keep your eyes peeled to one of the hottest up and coming artists in the scene.
