About

Addison Groove combines all the right flavors of Techno, Electro, Jungle & Juke, stripped down drum beats and acid basslines to carve a unique and infectious groove, giving a unique and versatile approach to many genres of underground music.
It's a rare feat for an artist to garner respect in one genre, let alone across most of underground electronic music. Bristol-based producer Tony Williams AKA Addison Groove (formerly known as Headhunter), managed to do so. A Dubstep mainstay active since 2006, he released a multitude of singles for Tempa as well as an album (Nomad) for the label in 2008.

2010 marked his first release ("Footcrab / Dumbsh*t") as Addison Groove on Loefah's label Swamp 81 and features chopped up samples influenced by the Chicago Juke/Footwork sound. As cited on The Quietus, he played a significant role in introducing this music scene to the U.K. Bass Music continuum and helped solidify the connection between the two, sealing the deal by collaborating with genre pioneer Dj Rashad, featuring on his album "Double Cup" (Hyperdub). He has also released on Pinch's label Tectonic, 50 Weapons (Modeselektor) and 3024 (Martyn).

Since 2012 Addison Groove has toured nightclubs, festivals and broadcasters such as Boiler Room, Fabric (London), Berghain (Berlin), Keep Hush and Glastonbury. Besides Dubstep, his exploration of the UK Bass scene allowed him to gain interest from mainstream media platforms such as BBC Radio 1, Dazed, Vice Magazine and The Red Bull Music Academy where he was a lecturer. He has also collaborated with Sam Binga and Drum & Bass veteran DJ Die and released on Pretty Weird, Exit, Worst Behaviour, Hessle Audio, Gutterfunk and Dance Trax.

He’s successfully combined all the right flavors of Jungle, Juke, Footwork, stripped down drum beats and acid basslines to carve a unique and infectious groove, giving a unique and versatile approach to many genres of underground music. In February 2023 Moschino used his track "Eh Wut" for their Fall/Winter 2023 Collection at Milan Fashion show. You should expect a wild journey of genre fluidity and vivid rhythms.
