Simone Martínez is a house DJ based in Manchester, UK. She was introduced to South African house music back in 2010. Sultry vocals, ancestral drum patterns and the energy that came with this music were the catalysts to her officially starting her DJ journey in 2016. Simone honed her sound and has worked hard on her craft, building a small following that enjoys her fusion of Afro sounds with a dash of old-school vibes and vocals. Simone featured in Mixmag’s award-winning Blackout Edition 2021, where she was mentioned by Funk Butcher as one to watch for the coming year ahead. She was also a guest on Funk Butcher’s “Houseology Voices” podcast expressing her views on women in house music and her journey and experiences as a DJ, so far. 2021 saw her first festival bookings, for brands ‘The Originals’, as well as a branded stage at the renown ‘Parklife’ festival in Manchester’s Heaton Park.
