Nile Ashton is a multi-instrumentalist turned DJ/producer originally from Durham, North Carolina. Now New Orleans based, he has developed a multi-genre approach to underground dance music that combines modern club sensibility with a classic understanding of rhythm and groove. “for the club, not the faint of heart...” Nile is also 1/2 of the DJ Duo "Secret Handshake" with Washington DC-based Artist/DJ Lady Lavender. This project explores genres such as electro, breakbeat, and techno with a mission to influence a new generation of underground dance music enthusiasts. As the Musical Curator of New Orleans music venue “The Rabbit Hole”, Nile aims to provide accessibility to underground dance music in the birthplace of Jazz."
