Berlin-based Brazilian Dj, Host, Curator, and Graphic Artist Rafush, claims their space throughout the club scene. An artist who can quickly change platforms to express themselves and fight for what they believe in.
When it comes to music they have an anything-goes approach transitioning between diverse musical styles. With a boundary-pushing attitude, this million-genre artist skillfully weaves together rhythm-driven productions, obscure tracks, potent drum lines, and experimental electronics. Their sets showcase a global perspective, enriched by strong African and Afro-diasporic influences, creating a dynamic and diverse sonic experience.
They see an urgent need for more diversity, and awareness in club culture. "Before techno became white and hedonistic, it was black and politically conceived —a byproduct of African-American struggle, and a form of protest. Underground resistance was in no way a euphemism but a reality. They engage in a more intentional, aware, and political club culture.
Co-founding two collectives in Berlin: the afro futuristic collective Yoko Yoko, which engages in increasing black representation in Berlin’s club scene.
And the multidisciplinary party collective “ouch”, which focuses on music and inclusivity, curating unique evenings full of rare grooves, spanning experimental electronics, new productions, and obscurities with a worldwide perspective stepping out of the usual binary sounds in the club scene with a strong commitment to the dance floor and club culture. Ouch collective celebrates plurality and aims to raise gender and race awareness in the club scene. As an extension of the events ouch collective hosts a monthly live radio at the experimental Berlin based community radio Cashmere.
Member of the FLINT+ collective radio show “Belladona Nuit”, Rafush has many topics on their agenda. Co-hosting two shows on Cashmere Radio, they co-curate the Karl Kutter Stage at Fusion Festival (Germany), with 24+ stages and 70 thousand people attending between crew and guests, she is here to stay and down to make and be the change she engages in.
With a short career spanning over only 1,5 years, they’re becoming a household name in Berlin’s electronic music scene. They have graced the stages of some of the most iconic music festivals in Germany already. From the sultry rhythms of the XJazz Festival to the mesmerizing beats of Nation of Gondwana, the eclectic vibes of Fusion Festival, and the underground queer energy of Whole Festival, Rafush has consistently left audiences in awe with their selections. With a passion for pushing musical boundaries and an unwavering commitment to creating unique performances, Rafush is an increasingly driving force in Berlin's music scene.
