Inner Echo
with Big Chip
Samuel 'Chip' Huelin, A.K.A. Big Chip, is an active member of the evergreen Bristol reggae community, cutting his teeth performing as a session musician alongside cherished artists such as Aleighcia Scott, Kiko Bun, Joe Yorke, Dub Princess, Hollie Cook, and Shniece McMenamin, to name just a few.
Beyond his session work, Big Chip is an integral part of several bands, including Run Come Down, Hotsteppas, The Co-Operators, and Talisman. His contributions continue to shape and uplift the reggae scene, making him a respected and influential presence in the industry.
As a producer, Chip has previously released one album of his own material, ‘Big Chip Presents: Sounds of Bristol’, which saw a vinyl release back in 2019. The album went on to sell out entirely and was supported by notable record stores across the South West.
Chip’s follow-up to his debut album, titled ‘Run The Track’, was recorded alongside his primary outfit Run Come Down and with the newly formed Cornerstone Horns handling brass duties. This hot-off-the-press LP features many of the artists he has performed with in recent years, riding upon his newly crafted rhythms.
Set for release on 30th November 2024, this project pays an earnest respect—both visually and sonically—to some of Chip's favourite labels and producers of the late ‘70s/early ‘80s Jamaican Rub-A-Dub/Dancehall era.
