Feat. Catching Cairo (Tiffani Juno)
Catching Cairo, formerly known as Tiffani Juno, emerges from the vibrant streets of North London, where her journey into music began. Born Tiffani Singh-Brown, she was raised in Edmonton, North London, in a bustling household filled with the rhythm of family and creativity. Surrounded by six siblings and her devoted mother, Cairo's upbringing was infused with the eclectic sounds of her diverse family.
From a young age, Cairo found solace and expression through music and performance. While her mother instilled a love for classic jazz and Motown, her siblings introduced her to indie rock and 90s R&B. Together, they formed the backdrop for Cairo's musical journey, shaping her eclectic taste and style.
As a child, Cairo, then known by her pseudonym Tilli B, began exploring her musical talents alongside her siblings. From writing and performing grime bars with her older brother to choreographing songs with her sisters, music became an integral part of her life. Supported by her mother's encouragement, Cairo received classic jazz vocal training, honing her skills and expanding her musical palette.
Cairo's passion for performance led her to the stage and screen, where she appeared in various television shows and movies. Despite her early successes, her ambitions initially leaned towards studying law. However, fate had other plans when her sister intervened, nudging her towards the renowned Brit School, where she immersed herself in the study of music.
It wasn't until Cairo won a Sony ATV songwriting competition that she fully embraced her identity as an artist. Working with established producers and collaborating with renowned acts, she honed her craft under the name Tiffani Juno. Her talent and dedication garnered attention, leading to collaborations with artists like Iggy Azalea and acclaimed dance duo Hybrid Minds.
Taking a hiatus from the industry, Cairo pursued higher education, earning both a bachelor's and master's degree in Commercial Music. This period of reflection and growth allowed her to redefine her sound and artistic vision. Emerging from this transformative journey, she introduced DreameR D&B, a genre blending elements of R&B, soul, and UK soundsystem, reflecting her unique style and perspective.
Today, Catching Cairo stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and passion. With a distinctive sound and a commitment to authenticity, she continues to captivate audiences, weaving dreams through her music and leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
